Variety - the Children’s Charity proudly marks 50 years of supporting children and families who are sick, experiencing disadvantage, or living with a disability across Australia. Since its inception in 1975, Variety has positively impacted more than two million children and their families. On 14th May 2025, Variety – the Children's Charity NSW/ACT is celebrating the legacy of our beloved Penny Docherty through a Wharfies Long Lunch in honour of her 44 years of outstanding commitment to Variety. The silent auction will be directly supporting essential therapy costs to children who are ineligible for NDIS support or awaiting a diagnosis. The funding would ensure that children receive critical interventions like physiotherapy and speech therapy, helping them reach their full potential regardless of their circumstances or geography.
